Joan L. Kelly

Catholic cozy mystery author, Joan L. Kelly, is the author of the mystery series Mibs Monahan Mysteries.   She currently lives in Virginia and enjoys spending time with her daughters, sons-in-law, and especially her grandkids.

Joan started writing while she was an elementary school teacher.  One of her favorite projects was when her students wrote tall tales in their Literature class.  Their entertaining stories had her laughing out loud as she graded their work. Joan’s philosophy is that life can often be difficult; fiction stories are excellent therapy.  When life gets hard, escape for a while in a good book.

Previously published books, My Big Feet, Hiding the Stranger, and The DNA Connection were written for younger readers.

Joan Kelly’s YA work has been called “highly recommended for community library fiction collections” by Midwest Book Review.

Marilyn Missell, Associate Superintendent of Education; Diocese of Springfield, IL., said, “Character education can be painless—as evidenced by My Big Feet.

Lisa Hendey, author, podcast host, speaker, said of Hiding the Stranger, “fast pace, great plot, engaging characters…”
