Carolyn is the author of Growing in God’s Image (to be published October
1st, 2011). She has been married to her husband, Jim, for thirty-nine years.
She is the mother of eight daughters and two sons and the grandmother of
thirteen. She and her family reside in Columbia, Maryland.
Carolyn home schooled six of their children and was a member of TORCH,
Traditions of Roman Catholic Homes. She taught Religious Education for
twenty years, which included preparation for the Sacraments of Penance
and Eucharist, and teamed with her husband for Confirmation preparation.
For many years, she and her husband acted as a sponsor couple in helping
to prepare young couples for the Sacrament of Marriage.
She formed the Family Life curriculum for Woodmont Academy in
Cooksville, Maryland and for two years, taught girls in grades four through
eight. In her home parish, she used her book, “Growing in God’s Image”
(formerly titled “Living in God’s Image”) to guide parents through a
discussion of the facts of life with their children. There were separate
nights for the boys with their fathers and for the girls with their mothers.
She has spoken on Sexuality at the NACHE (National Association of
Catholic Home Educators) Conferences in Manassas, Virginia and at the
Catholic Family Expo in Baltimore, Maryland. She has also spoken with
small groups of women in the Baltimore area.

Kathy Cassanto is co-editor of Come My Beloved: Inspiring Stories
of Catholic Courtship (CWG Seal of Approval, 2011). She is a wife
and home schooling mother of three boys and three girls. She was
born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, and is locally famous for her
baking, especially butter tarts! Kathy has found her debut into the
publishing world to have been a positive experience. She and her
husband, Mark, are NFP Promoters for the Couple to Couple League
and support Catholic family life on many levels.
The idea for Come My Beloved came about on Valentine’s Day in
2009. A group of mothers, including Kathy, were enjoying one
another’s fellowship as their children played and exchanged cards.
Each mother began to share how they met their husbands. Realizing
that God’s hand was truly present in bringing each couple together,
Kathy remarked, “It’s too bad there isn’t a book available with
Catholic courtship stories.” Two years later, her idea has become a
reality.
